2014 - San Antonio, Texas
My clients bought a 1960's Spanish style home designed by a well known architect, but it needed a lot of updating. The wife is a well known Texas artist, and the husband an up and coming sculptor. After major electrical and plumbing remodeling, the vast collection of original art and sculptures by well known artists around the country was the focus of this home. A large section of wall was removed from the kitchen to create visual access to the living room. A clerestory window was added to the living room for more natural lighting. The latest LED lighting was used throughout the home to illuminate the art as well as down-lighting for the furnishings. The client's love for Mexican and South American art and artifacts are scattered throughout the home, and the color scheme for the interior was pulled from these various artifacts.
